Safe Playground to be Built at Politz Hebrew Academy

Philadelphia, PA (Vocus) June 4, 2009 -- More than 40 Keystone Mercy Health Plan (www.keystonemercy.com) employees, staff from Politz Hebrew Academy and volunteers from State Representative Brendan F. Boyle's office will participate in a seven-hour construction of a new playground at Politz Hebrew Academy, here, as a part of Keystone Mercy's Safe Playground Program. The program was created to reduce the number of preventable injuries suffered by children, while encouraging healthy, physical activity with the construction of safe play areas. The build will take place on Friday, June 5, 2009, starting at 7:00 a.m., with completion scheduled for 2:00 p.m.

This will be the sixth playground built since the program's inception in 2007. Other builds include Drexel Neumann Academy and Village Charter School in Chester Township; Logan Elementary and Luis Munoz-Marin Elementary in Philadelphia; and Hancock Elementary School in Norristown.

Keystone Mercy will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 2:30 p.m. to celebrate the completion of the 33' x 16' playground, at which point a group of more than 60 Politz Academy students will get the chance to play on the new structure for the first time.
